The Great Bend Housing Authority invites all landlords with properties in Great Bend to a brief meeting aimed at providing insights into our Section 8 program, outlining the new policy we have implemented, and explaining how you, as a landlord, can benefit from it. Additionally, we will have current property owners who are utilizing our Section 8 voucher system share their experiences and insights about how the program operates.

About Section 8 Assistance
Great Bend Housing Authority operates a Section 8 assistance program for low-income persons in Great Bend, Kansas who are seeking housing on the private market. Funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), this program assists low-income persons with affordable, decent, safe, and sanitary housing provided the unit passes a physical inspection. Participants pay approximately 30% of their income as rent to the landlord of their choice, with the Great Bend Housing Authority subsidizing the remaining portion.
GBHA receives 112 vouchers per month, with approximately 80 currently being utilized.
